What is a Domain Name?
A Domain Name is a unique name that is the basis for a companies identity
on the Web. This name can be used for email, world wide web sites and FTP
(file transfer protocol). Each domain name can be used by only one company.
Why should I register a domain name now?
If you do not register your Domain Name now, it may not be available by the
time you NEED it. The Internic assigns names on a First Come First Serve
Basics. Domain name are being registered in phenomenal numbers right now.
There are even companies out there who do nothing but register Domain Names so
that they can sell them later when people who never registered are in need.
How much is this going to cost me?
We (D&D) charge an initial one time processing fee of $100.00. Internic
will charge you an initial $70 registration fee which is good for the first 2
years of you ownership of the domain. Internic will then bill you $35.00 per
year thereafter. So, your total cost to us will be $170.00. If you choose to
have us to host your Web site, we will setup and configure the server at no
additional charge. (most hosting services charge at least a $50.00 fee for
this)
